Oklahoma State 2020 Football Offers: Defense

Oklahoma State is BUSY on the recruiting trail,  handing out offers like candy to kids on Halloween.That's mainly because the time period from now until February 2 is considered the "contact period" which means teams go into overdrive on the recruiting trail talking to and offering scholarships to recruits.In all,  Oklahoma State has made scholarship offers to around 20 prospects in the last week,  that we know of. We're going to focus on the 2020 prospects first,  and because there are so many rolling in so fast,  we're going to split up the offensive and defensive prospects.We already looked at the offensive players,  this time we'll look at the players on the defensive side of the ball. One,  Princely Umanmielen,  we talked about already. Oklahoma State offered a pair of defensive backs from Arizona,  starting with safety Jacobe Covington.Oklahoma State is the 10th program to offer the 6-foot-2,  180-pound DB from Saguaro High in Scottsdale,  Arizona. They join USC,  Washington State,  Michigan State,  Arizona,  Oregon,  Penn State,  Tennessee,  Nebraska,  and Indiana.Covington is a versatile player who could line up at corner or at safety in and around the line of scrimmage. He's not big,  and still needs to put on weight,  but would great with run-defense. Covington plays for Saguaro,  which is one of the premiere programs in Arizona,  and a school that produces some high quality DBs. He will be one that OSU likely pursues hard and would be a great fit for OSU's defense.5-Star Cornerback Kelee RingoThe Cowboys also offered Covington's teammate,  the top-ranked corner in the class.Ringo Justin Jefferson Jersey,  6-foot-2,  200-pounds,  is ranked as the top player in Arizona and the number one corner in the class by 247Sports. His offer list backs that up at 32 schools,  including Alabama,  Ohio State,  Washington,  Oklahoma,  Auburn,  Georgia,  Florida State,  LSU,  Penn State,  Notre Dame,  Texas Charles Turner Jersey,  Stanford,  and more.It's good to see Oklahoma State target a player like Ringo,  but let's be honest. The likelihood of him committing to OSU is slim. Ringo has high interest in Washington,  Alabama,  Oklahoma,  and Texas,  with strong connections to the Austin program.4-Star Defensive End Alec BryantOklahoma State joins a growing list of schools targeting the talented defensive end.Since January 14th,  five new schools have offered Bryant including Oklahoma State,  Colorado,  Texas Tech,  Oregon,  and Virginia Tech,  bringing his total offer sheet to 17. As of now,  247Sports has Oklahoma as the favorite with all five crystal ball predictions reading Sooners.The 6-foot-3,  230-pound DE from Pearland,  Texas is a talented pass rusher who recorded 55 tackles including 18 TFLs and eight sacks in 2018,  and also broke up two passes.Cornerback Ryan WattsOSU loves under the radar guys like currently unranked corner Ryan Watts.The Cowboys are now the third FBS program to extend Watts a scholarship offer,  joining Baylor and Arkansas. Watts,  6-foot-2 https://www.ltoutletstore.com,  187-pounds,  played both corner and free safety for Little Elm.3-Star Linebacker Antonio DoyleThis offer actually went out in December and somehow slipped through the cracks.A Top-10 player out of Missouri,  the 6-foot-4,  220 pound outside linebacker currently has offers from 11 FBS programs. Along with OSU,  that includes Texas AM,  Missouri,  Nebraska,  Purdue,  Kentucky,  Minnesota,  Louisville,  Indiana,  Illinois,  and Kansas.Doyle has said he would like to announce his decision during an All-American game,  so don't expect anything until January of 2020.It will be interesting to see how Doyle looks in 2019. He had to sit out the 2018 season after transferring. We will continue to update this list as new offers come in.
